Program Overview

What does it do?

Foul drainage removes the waste from the toilet, bidet, bath, basins, sinks, washing machines, dishwashers and showers. The above-ground pipework is referred to as sanitary pipework; the underground pipework is referred to as foul drains and foul sewers.

MasterDRAIN Foul is a versatile multi-function program for designing foul water drainage.

Some of the functions are:

Automatic foul water drainage calculations Autogradients option allows the program to set gradients as a function of the pipe diameter Database function for interrogating data files Levels calculation sets invert/crown levels automatically, and calculates ramps and backdrops On-screen interactive schematic of system Direct sizing - size as you enter data Program constants may be modified and save for future sessions Full on screen manual and worked examples Full Help file and on-screen 'Quick help'

Calculates excavations, and gives quantities of spoil and fill, plus crushing strengths of pipes Choice of BS EN12056 Discharge units or straight flow rates Discharge unit values may be set by the user if required DWF calculation include Wastewater & BOD calculation Rehabilitation costs Sump volume Peak flow rates Septic tank soakaway calculations and printout added

MasterDRAIN Foul is primarily designed for:

DRAINAGE DESIGN ENGINEERS

Those with a developed knowledge of foul water drainage, this program will provide a useful toolbox of routines for designing systems,
calculating waste flows and BOD, sizing pump chambers and many more aspects of design. Ease and speed of use were the main criteria when writing this program.

ARCHITECTS

The program will allow a non-specialist to design a drainage system and test it. Data may be exported as a DXF file for use in CAD packages.

LOCAL AUTHORITIES

This program may be used to check submitted designs.

EDUCATIONALISTS

Civil Engineering or Building Services students will find this program invaluable as an introduction to foul water drainage design.
